Ladies Golf in 11th After Day 1 at ULM's Fred Marx Invitational

MONROE, La.-The Centenary women's golf team sits in 11th place at ULM's Fred Marx Invitational after firing a two-round total of 683 on Day 1 of competition at Bayou Desiard Country Club in Monroe, La.

The Ladies earned a first round total of 337, but struggled a bit in round two, adding nine shots to finish 36 holes at 683, 85 shots out of the lead.

Centenary juniors Rachel Grinnell (83-82) and Justine Kemp (79-86) each totaled 165 to sit in a tie for 43rd after Monday's rounds.

Fellow junior Kyndal Rose (91-81) made the biggest improvement of the day, trimming 10 shots off her opening round to sit in a tie for 55th with a 172. Sophomores Sarah Bradshaw (84-97, 181) and Kylee Goldthorn (92-98, 190) are tied for 59th and in 62nd, respectively.

Troy University sits atop the leader board with a two-round score of 598. South Alabama is one shot back with a 599, followed by Houston Baptist with a 606.

Individually, Langley Vannoy (74-71) of Troy paces the field with a +1, 145 score.

The tournament will conclude on Tuesday with 18 holes. Tee times begin at 8:45 am.
