Preview: Ladies Begin Home Stand this Weekend

SHREVEPORT- The Centenary women's soccer team will return to Mayo Field for four consecutive home games over the next two weekends. The Ladies will take on LeTourneau this Friday at 5 pm followed by ETBU on Saturday at 5 pm.

Centenary (5-4, 3-1 ASC) is returning home after splitting the weekend with Louisiana College and Mississippi College. Juniors Courtney Cleveland and Traci Lee, along with senior Candace Rushing each scored in the 3-0 win over Louisiana College. The Ladies suffered their first conference loss to Mississippi College on Saturday. Rushing netted her second goal of the weekend, but it was not enough as the Choctaws secured a 2-1 win over the Ladies.

A LOOK AT STATS
Centenary is tied with its opponents in goals scored, completing 18 attempts thus far. Junior Holden Penney continues to lead the Ladies with 15 points total (5 goals, 5 assists). Rushing follows Penney with 10 points total on four goals and two assists. Also contributing is Lee with two goals and two assists on the season. Freshman keeper Brittaney Dunn has tallied 50 saves and records a .735 percentage, including four shutouts.

A LOOK AT LETOURNEAU
LeTourneau enters Friday's contest with just one win under its belt this season. The YellowJacket's only win came in its first match against Hendrix in a 1-0 battle. LeTourneau has scored two goals to its opponent's 22 goals. The YellowJackets have yet to win a conference game, suffering losses to Mary Hardin-Baylor, Howard Payne, Schreiner, Texas Lutheran and ETBU.

A LOOK AT ETBU
ETBU is 7-1-0 overall and 4-0 in the ASC. The Lady Tigers have outscored their opponents 17-3 so far this season. Junior Rebecca Davis leads ETBU with 10 points on four goals and two assists.

UP NEXT
The Ladies will continue their four-game home stay as they take on McMurry and Hardin Simmons the following weekend. Centenary will host McMurry on Thursday at 4 pm, followed by defending National Champion Hardin Simmons on Saturday at 4 pm.
