SHREVEPORT-The Centenary gymnastics program and first-year head coach Jackie Fain released the 2012 competition schedule for the Ladies on Thursday morning.

Centenary is set to compete in 11 regular season meets, followed by a Conference and National Championship. The Ladies open their season on January 6-8 when they travel to Central Michigan and Western Michigan.

Remaining on the road for the next four meets, Centenary will travel to TWU to face off against Oklahoma and Utah State, followed by a trip to Denver, Colo. to take on Denver and Air Force, before hitting the road to Oklahoma to take on Nebraska and Minnesota.

Centenary will wrap up their lengthy road trip with a stop at TWU in Denton, Texas on February 11.

"We have a challenging road schedule this year; not only will we be seeing 7 of the top 20 Division I teams in the nation, but our travel schedule will be a test of our endurance," said Fain. "Our road schedule will give us some great national exposure and will help to prepare us for our championship season later in the year."

It will not be until February 18 that the Ladies will see their home court when they host TWU in the Gold Dome at 6 pm. Centenary will follow with back-to-back meets, hosting Springfield College on February 25.

Separating home meets, Centenary will travel to Penn State to take on North Carolina and Michigan. The Ladies will then return home to host Illinois State, Illinois-Chicago on March 10 and Kentucky on March 17 in the Gold Dome at 6 pm.

"Our home schedule this year is an exciting one!  We will be meeting our old rival and conference foe Texas Woman's University in our first home meet," said Fain. "We will also meet two other conference opponents University of Illinois at Chicago and Illinois State in a tri meet.  These two meets should provide us with confidence as we head to our conference championships."

The Midwest Independent Conference (MIC) Championships will be held in Chicago, Ill. on March 24. NCAA Regionals are in Auburn, Ala. on April 7, while the USAG Collegiate Nationals are held in Bridgeport, Connecticut on April 13-15.
