SHREVEPORT-The Centenary women's soccer team used a balanced team effort to shutout LeTourneau, 2-0, on Friday evening in ASC play.

The Ladies improved to 6-4 overall and 4-1 in ASC action with the victory.

Centenary grabbed the early lead when junior Allie Cortes notched her first goal of the season at the 15-minute mark, which came on a long pass from senior Candace Rushing.

The Ladies maintained possession much of the contest despite being held to a 1-0 lead through the first half. Centenary posted seven shots to the YellowJackets' two in the opening 45 minutes.

Centenary extended its lead to 2-0 on a goal when Rushing found junior Holden Penney deep down field, which provided junior Courtney Cleveland a fire into an empty goal for her third score of the season.

Freshman goal keeper Brittaney Dunn picked up her sixth win of the year with another shutout in goal, collecting four saves.

The Ladies out shot LeTourneau, 15 to 7 and maintained control of corner kicks with 11 on the afternoon.

Centenary will continue play on Saturday with a 5 pm contest against ETBU on Mayo Field.
