Preview: Volleyball Set to Face LeTourneau in Gold Dome, Tuesday

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary volleyball team will look to extend its winning streak when it hosts LeTourneau at 7 pm on Tuesday in the Gold Dome.

The Ladies evened their overall record at 7-7 with back-to-back wins over Concordia and Howard Payne on Saturday.

Junior Shelby Singleton paces the offense with 191 kills and an impressive .490 attack percentage. Senior Jaclyn Lopez follows with 130 kills and freshman Brooke Bahlinger is enjoying a solid debut season with 128 kills to date. Senior Caitlin Neese has dished out 423 assists, while senior Taylor Gilmour has tallied a squad-best 20 service aces.

Defensively, Gilmour has made 186 digs, followed by Lopez with 144, Bahlinger with 117 and junior Jesi Wilcox with 112. Singleton had played a valued part in 43 block assists and has 21 block solos to her name.

As a team, Centenary is out attacking its opponents, .228 to .173 and out blocked 100 to 65.

LeTourneau enters Tuesday's contest with a 1-16 overall record and has dropped its last two. The YellowJackets only win this season came against Sul Ross State in a 3-2 victory. Leading the way offensively for LeTourneau is Jo Runnels with 135 kills and Brooke Sheranko with 261 assists. Jessica Zabojnik paces with 143 digs.

Centenary and LeTourneau will meet for the third time in history. The Ladies earned a 3-1 victory in Longview, Texas on Sept. 6, 2011.

The Centenary-LeTourneau match will be available via live stats on free of charge.

Centenary will take part in the ASC Dig Pink Cross-Over Challenge II held in Marshall, Texas on Friday and Saturday. The Ladies will face Schreiner on Friday at 2:30 pm, followed by Sul Ross State at 12:30 pm and Texas Lutheran at 5:30 pm on Saturday before returning home to host Mississippi College on Sunday at 2 pm.
