Ladies Golf Cuts Strokes, Finishes Fourth at UT-Tyler Invitational

TYLER, Texas-The Centenary women's golf team put together a much better second round to finish fourth at the UT-Tyler Invitational with a two-round total of 713 at The Cascades on Tuesday.

The Ladies (363-350) managed to trim 13 shots off their opening round total to finish +145 and 51 shots out of the lead.

Junior Justine Kemp (81-85) finished in ninth place to lead Centenary after sitting in third through Monday's opening round. Kemp fired a two-round total of 166, 10 shots out of the lead.

Sophomore Sarah Bradshaw (91-81) saw the Ladies' best turnaround with a 10 shot difference to finish in a tie for 13th with a 172. Junior Rachel Grinnell (84-90) fired a 174 to place 16th, two shots behind Bradshaw. Rounding out the Ladies was sophomore Kylee Goldthorn (107-94) with a much better outing on Tuesday, tying for 24th with a 201.

UT-Tyler captured the team title with a 662, followed by Texarkana CC in second at 666 and Schreiner in third at 679. LeTourneau's Candice Nishimura, playing as an individual, took top honors with a +14, 156.
