Preview: Gents on Mayo Against McMurry, Hardin-Simmons

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary men's soccer team will continue its four game home stint with two more, as the Gents host ASC opponents McMurry and Hardin Simmons this weekend. McMurry will arrive for a 6 pm game on Thursday evening, while Hardin-Simmons will follow on Saturday night also at 6 pm.

The Gents (6-2, 5-1) are returning to Mayo Field after an impressive showing this past weekend. Junior Adam Ghaemmaghami and freshman Brandon Heim secured the win over LeTourneau (2-1) for the Gents on Friday night with a goal apiece. The goals kept pouring in for Centenary as junior John Finn, senior Aaron Bergman, and junior Spencer Nickerson each scored one against ETBU on Saturday night, propelling the Gents to a 3-2 win.

A LOOK AT STATS
The Centenary men's soccer team is outscoring its opponents 19-10. Senior Marcos Rodriguez continues to lead the Gents in points with five goals and three assists. Behind Rodriguez is Nickerson and Ghaemmaghami, each with six points apice. Nickerson has tallied three goals while Ghaemmaghami is on board with one goal and four assists. Starting goalie Robbie Ramirez has tallied twenty-five saves on the season with a .781 save percentage.

A LOOK AT MCMURRY
McMurry will enter Thursday's contest with a record of 1-9 overall and 0-6 in conference play. The War Hawks have been outscored 7-31 by their opponents. McMurry is being led by senior Sheharyar Khan and freshman Mario Varela. Each has four points on two goals apiece.

A LOOK AT HARDIN-SIMMONS
The Cowboys of Hardin-Simmons are currently 4-3-2 overall and 4-1-1 in conference play. Hardin-Simmons is even in scoring verse its opponents at 16 goals. Senior Chris Hunter is leading the Cowboys with four goals and one assist on the season. Behind Hunter is sophomore Matt Pitcock with eight points on three goals and two assists.

The Gents will hit the road next week as they travel to UT-Tyler and Concordia in conference play.
