SHREVEPORT-The Centenary men's soccer team remains unbeaten in conference play on Mayo Field after earning a 3-1 victory over McMurry on Thursday evening in ASC play.

The Gents improved to 7-2 overall and 6-1 in conference action and have now won three straight and five straight at home.

Centenary went up 1-0 at the 12-minute mark when junior John Finn netted his third goal of the season on a pass from junior Spencer Nickerson across the box, finding the lower right corner.

Up 1-0 for much of the first half, Centenary senior Marcos Rodriguez fired off his team-leading sixth goal of the season on an unassisted shot that found the back of the net to put the Gents up 2-0 heading into the final half.

Two firsts happened on the Gents' third goal of the game when junior John Seat collected his first goal of his career on an assist by sophomore Danny Haar, his first with 61 minutes passed.

McMurry finally made noise with one minute to play when it netted its first goal on a penalty shot by Sheharyar Khan.

Junior goal keeper Robbie Ramirez picked up his sixth win of the year in goal without having to make any saves. Sophomore keeper Chase Duet played the final 45 minutes in goal, making two stops.

Centenary out shot McMurry, 19-6. The Gents were led offensively by Nickerson with four shots, one on goal, while Seat and freshman Gabriel Zahm each tallied three shots.
