Preview: Ladies Travel on Road for Two

SHREVEPORT- The Centenary women's soccer team will lace up away from Mayo Field for the first time since September 24, when the Ladies travel to Tyler, Texas and Austin, Texas this weekend for more ASC action. First, the Ladies will take on UT-Tyler on Thursday at 5 pm, followed by meeting Concordia (TX) at 5:30 pm on Saturday.

The Ladies (8-5, 6-2) will return to action following a good showing this past weekend when they hosted McMurry and defending National Champion, Hardin-Simmons. The Ladies defeated McMurry 4-0 on Thursday night. Junior Holden Penney and senior Laura Immenschuh scored a goal apiece, while junior Courtney Cleveland netted two of her own on the evening. Hardin-Simmons would capture the win on Saturday in 2-0 battle against the Ladies, however it did not come easily. Both goals for the Cowgirls came late in each half as the Ladies fought hard.

A LOOK AT STATS
The Ladies continue to outscore their opponents, 26-21, so far. Penney remains the leader offensively for the Ladies, having scored seven goals and assisted seven as well. Senior Candace Rushing has added four goals and five assists to the mix. Following closely is Cleveland with five goals. Freshman keeper, Brittaney Dunn has made 69 saves and shutout six opponents.

A LOOK AT UT-TYLER
The Patriots of UT-Tyler are currently on a 6-game winning streak. UT-Tyler's last loss came on September 17 in a 3-0 drop to Hardin-Simmons. The Patriots will travel to Austin, Texas on Tuesday to take on Concordia (TX) at 1 pm. Junior Charity Shipman is leading UT-Tyler with six goals and two assists.

A LOOK AT CONCORDIA
The Tornados are 8-4 overall and 6-2 in conference play. Concordia has dropped conference games to Hardin-Simmons and Howard Payne. The Tornados will host UT-Tyler Tuesday afternoon in Austin, Texas. Concordia is being led by Kendall Williams with 17 points on seven goals and three assists.

UP NEXT
The Ladies will return home to host Mary Hardin-Baylor and Howard Payne on October 21 and 22. Both contests are slated to begin at 4 pm.
