Preview: Gents Soccer to Play Mid-Week Game at Hendrix

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary men's soccer team will look to build on its exciting 2-1 win on Saturday over Concordia when it travels to Hendrix on Tuesday for a 7 pm contest in Conway, Arkansas.

The Gents improved their record to 8-3-1 with Saturday's win and evened their away record at 2-2.

Centenary's offense has outscored its opponents, 25 to 15 and is led by senior Marcos Rodriguez' 15 points on six goals and three assists. Junior Spencer Nickerson follows with seven points on three goals and one assist, while senior Ryan Christianson and juniors John Finn and Adam Ghaemmaghami each have six points.

Junior goal keeper Robbie Ramirez has played 928 minutes in goal, collecting 41 saves for a .788 percentage. He holds a record of 7-3-1 with four shutouts.

Hendrix enters Tuesday's contest with a 5-2-3 overall record. The Warriors are coming off a 2-1 win over Austin College. The offense is led by Connor Silvestri with nine goals and three assists for 21 points, while Duncan Keegan follows with eight goals and four assists for 20 points. In goal, Adam Legg holds a record of 5-2-3 and has collected 43 saves in 963 minutes.

Centenary and Hendrix will meet for the third time in history. The Gents currently hold the all-time record of 2-0 over the Warriors. The last time these two teams met was back in 1992 when Centenary earned a 5-2 win at home.

Centenary will play its final home games this weekend when it hosts Mary Hardin-Baylor on Friday at 4 pm, followed by Howard Payne on Saturday at 4 pm on Mayo Field. The Gents will honor its senior class on Saturday.
