Preview: Ladies Prep for Final Games of Season

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary women's soccer team preps for its final games of the 2011 season when it travels to UT-Dallas on Thursday at 5 pm and University of the Ozarks on Saturday at 1 pm.

The Ladies enter the weekend games with an overall record of 9-7-1 and a 7-4-1 mark in the American Southwest Conference.

Despite coming off a 3-2 overtime fall against Howard Payne on Senior Night, the Ladies earned a 2-0 shutout victory over Mary Hardin-Baylor one night before.

A LOOK AT STATS
Centenary is led by junior Holden Penney on the offensive end with 27 points on 10 goals and seven assists, both team-highs. Senior Candace Rushing follows with 13 points on four goals and five assists, while junior Traci Lee adds four goals and three assists to the mix for 11 points.

Freshman goal keeper Brittaney Dunn has played every minute this season in goal, collecting 99 saves for a .792 save percentage. The Willard, Missouri native is 9-7-1 and has seven shutouts to her name.

A LOOK AT UT-DALLAS
UT-Dallas is coming off an impressive 7-0 victory over Ozarks on Tuesday. The Comets are now 14-3 on the season and are riding a 10-game win streak. Their last loss came in a 1-0 fall to Hardin-Simmons back on Sept. 22.

Leading the way for the Comets is Leah Bowyer with 18 goals and eight assists for 44 points, while goal keeper Brittany Best has collected 28 saves in 1,275 minutes of action.

A LOOK AT OZARKS
Ozarks is coming off a loss to UT-Dallas on Tuesday. Now riding a 6-game losing streak, Ozarks is 3-15 overall. Alex Cannon paces Ozarks with eight goals and one assist for 17 points, while goal keeper Morgan O'Neil has tallied 91 saves in 809 minutes played.
