Hello all. I hope you've had a great week and are looking forward to some great Thanksgiving food with your families.  We played 2 games this past week.  Tuesday, we played at Northwestern State University and Saturday, we played at UT-Dallas.  Unfortunately, we didn't come away with a win at either place, but I feel like we definitely grew up as a team.

Our game Tuesday at NSU was a fun battle.  I felt like we did a lot of things right in that game.  The one thing we did extremely wrong was choose not to rebound.  The only time we got a rebound was if it fell directly into our hands.  If we would've chosen to crash the boards and block out if would have been a very different score.  We forced NSU into 20+ turnovers and had no trouble running our offense and scoring.  We scored 72 points against a Division 1 team that prides themselves on defense.  Our practices following NSU, involved a ton of rebounding drills with some not so fun consequences.  But no consequence at practice can come close to the feeling a losing a game simply because we decided not to box out and crash the boards.

Saturday, we headed to UT-Dallas for our first conference game of the season.  Our first half of the game was the worst basketball I've seen us play all year. UT-Dallas came out strong and aggressive and we played on our heels for the entire 1st half.  The 2nd half was much better.  We finally got into a rhythm and started playing our game.  But we simply could not dig ourselves out of the massive hole we made for ourselves in the 1st half.  In the game of basketball, a team has to play all 40 minutes and do the little things right.  UT-Dallas played a great game and did the little things right and that's why they came out with the victory.

I would also like to thank all the Centenary students that attend our game at UT-Dallas.  I saw numerous Centenary students that live new Dallas who had gone home for Thanksgiving break who attend our game as well as the men's game.  Thank you so much!  We really appreciated your support!

Now we have a few days off for Thanksgiving.  We'll be back to practice Wednesday evening to start preparing for our upcoming road trip against UMHB and Concordia.

Thank you all for checking in every week and keeping up with our women's basketball program.  I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving.
