Preview: Ladies Continue Road Tour at UMHB, Concordia

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary women's basketball team will continue its early season road tour when it travels to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday and Concordia (TX) on Monday. Both ASC contests are scheduled for a 5:30 pm start.

The Ladies (0-2) are looking to grab their first win of the season after falling to Northwestern State and UT-Dallas a week ago.

LAST TIME OUT
Centenary dropped a 73-59 contest on the road at UT-Dallas. The Ladies managed to put together a strong second half, outscoring the Comets 38-30. Centenary was led in scoring by senior Megan Daniel and junior Vashni Sharp-Moore, each with 14 points. Junior Jalena Sanders posted her first career double-double in a 13 point, 11 rebound effort.

A LOOK AT OVERALL STATS
Through two games, Sanders paces the Ladies in scoring with 14.0 ppg and on the boards with 7.0 rpg. Sharp-Moore is close behind with 13.5 ppg and leads the Ladies with 14 assists and six steals, while Daniel adds 11.5 ppg and averages a team-best 39.0 minutes/game. Freshman Dio Warr, off the bench, has provided Centenary was some much needed spark as she contributes with 8.5 ppg and 4.5 rpg.

A LOOK AT UMHB
The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor is currently 0-2 and looking for its first win of the year when it hosts Centenary. The Crusaders are coming off a 83-73 loss at Southwestern University. Leading UMHB is Jovana Miles in scoring with 14.0 ppg and on the boards with 9.0 rpg. UMHB is located in Belton, TX and is a member of the American Southwest Conference.

A LOOK AT CONCORDIA
Concordia will host its first official game on Saturday when ETBU meets the Tornados in Austin. Concordia was selected to finish fifth in the ASC West Preseason polls earlier this season.
