Preview: Gents at Home for Two this Week

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary men's basketball team is welcomed back home after playing its first three games this season on the road. The Gents will host Texas Lutheran on Thursday at 7:30 pm and Schreiner on Saturday at 3 pm in the Gold Dome.

Centenary returns to action with a 0-3 record, having dropped all its contests to ASC opponents.

LAST TIME OUT
A 37-point, career-high performance by senior Maxx Nakwaasah wasn't quite enough as the Centenary men's basketball team dropped a 98-89 effort at ASC opponent, Concordia (TX) on Monday evening.

A LOOK AT OVERALL STATS
Maxx Nakwaasah highlights all categories for the Gents with an astounding 32.3 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per game. The senior also has knocked down 33-of-37 from the free throw line for 89 percent and is shooting 47 percent from the floor on a 28-of-60 effort. Following in scoring is freshmen Daniel Allen and JaColby Hardin-Crawford with 6.3 points per game, while freshman Saro Ntagha is second in rebounding with 4.3 boards a game.

COUNT IT DOWN FOR MAXX
Maxx Nakwaasah has excelled the last two seasons as the Gents' leading scorer and one of the top rebounders on the team as a small forward. The Dallas, Texas native is eyeing the 1,000 point club and 500 rebound club at Centenary in his final season.

A LOOK AT TEXAS LUTHERAN
Texas Lutheran enters Thursday's contest with an even 2-2 record and a 2-0 mark against ASC opponents. The Bulldogs return to play after earning an 86-78 win over Louisiana College in its last game. Issac Williams paces the team with 21.0 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game. The Bulldogs are led by head coach Tommy Jones and finished 2010-11 at 11-13 on the year.

A LOOK AT SCHREINER
Schreiner is 2-2 and will meet ETBU on Thursday before heading to Shreveport to face the Gents on Saturday. The Mountaineers are coming off a 76-60 win over Mississippi College at home. Schreiner is led by Travis Pflughaupt's 25.0 points per game and 11.8 rebounds per game. The Bulldogs are coached by Drew Miller.

HISTORY
Centenary will meet both Texas Lutheran and Schreiner for the only time this season and the first in history. Due to these two teams being in the West Division of the ASC, Centenary will only play them once this year.
