Preview: Ladies Host TLU, SU in Home Openers

SHREVEPORT-After playing on the road the entire month of November, the Centenary women's basketball team returns home this week to host Texas Lutheran on Thursday at 5:30 pm and Schreiner on Saturday at 1 pm in the Gold Dome.

The Ladies currently sit 0-4 on the year and 0-3 against fellow ASC opponents.

LAST TIME OUT
Senior Megan Daniel drained seven three-pointers and recorded a career-best 30 points, while junior Vashni Sharp-Moore scored 18 points, a new high in a 94-79 loss for the Centenary women's basketball team at Concordia (TX) on Monday evening in ASC action.

A LOOK AT OVERALL STATS
Megan Daniel paces the offense with 15.3 points per game and a team-high 39 minutes per game. She has drained 11 three-pointers and has hit 10-of-12 from the free throw line for 83 percent. Vashni Sharp-Moore follows with 13.3 points per game and a team-best 27 assists. Also averaging double-figures is junior Jalena Sanders with 12.5 points per game and a team-best 8.0 rebounds per game. Dio Warr is close behind with 9.5 points per game and has been a solid sixth player for the Ladies, averaging 26.5 minutes per game off the bench.

A LOOK AT TEXAS LUTHERAN
Texas Lutheran enters Thursday's contest with a 0-3 overall record and a 0-2 mark against ASC opponents, having dropped its last contest to Louisiana College 93-75 at home. The Bulldogs are led offensively by Rebecca Valdez's 11.0 points per game. Katy Scott paces the team on the boards with 4.7 rebounds a game. Texas Lutheran is led by Roxanne Long and the Bulldogs were 8-17 a year ago.

A LOOK AT SCHREINER
Schreiner will play at ETBU prior to meeting Centenary on Saturday. The Mountaineers are 1-3 on the year after dropping its last game to Mississippi College 56-48 at home. Olivia Swarner leads Schreiner's offense with 11.5 points per game and paces the team on the boards with 9.3 rebounds per game. Schreiner is led by head coach Matt Wallis.

HISTORY
Centenary will meet both Texas Lutheran and Schreiner for the only time this season and the first in history. Due to these two teams being in the West Division of the ASC, Centenary will only play them once this year.
