Gym Talk: Christy Martinez
Wednesday, December 7, 2011
Hello Centenary Gymnastics Fans!

It's Christy again to tell you all about our past week! It is hard to believe that we have only been back from Thanksgiving break for a week now. The ladies have been hard at work inside the gym as well as outside the gym! For the past week, and until we go home for Christmas break, we have been doing insanity for conditioning. Man is it hard, but it will make us super strong! Our routines are getting more consistent and we started to put full floor sets out on the hard floor.

On Sunday we had our second intra-squad of the season! This was a great experience for us. The top 6-8 girls got to compete on each event. I must say every girl competed with vim and vigor and those who did not get to compete were very ebullient. It's great to be able to show off all our hard work! The ladies are excited about the upcoming season starting on January 6 in Michigan! We are ready to do whatever it takes (WIT, our team motto this year) to make day two of nationals! Thanks to everyone who came out to support us!

Also, this past week a lot of the ladies went out to support the women and men's basketball teams as they each had their first home games of the season! Congrats to both teams for winning over Schreiner University.

The ladies are ready to get back into the gym for our last full week of practice before finals. We will be working hard on improving over what we accomplished at the intra-squad as well as studying hard to be ready for finals.

I hope everyone has a lollapalooza week!

WIT,

Christy
