Hello everyone.  We finally won our first road win.  We played at ETBU on Saturday and won the game in a hard fought battle.  It was a back and forth physical game and we did a great job of buckling down and earning a great road win.

We started off the game very slow and not getting much movement on offense.  Finally, we were able to get some solid stops on defense and that allowed us to be more relaxed on offense and hit some good shots.  We continued to pressure hard in the half court set and gained the momentum going into halftime only down by two points.

In the second half, the game definitely became more physical especially in the paint.  I thought are post players composed themselves well and had great movement to create shots for not only them but our guards as well.

Are defense was key for us.  We still got out rebounded by a substantial margin.  We gave ETBU too many second chance opportunities, but thankfully we forced them to turn the ball over on many of those opportunities.  There were many defensive possessions we should've played defense for 25 seconds and ended up playing for over a minute.  But a win is a win.  And I have to hand it to our players; they fought and won a tough game on the road.

Sunday in practice, we turned our focus to McNeese State University.  We play MSU tonight at 7 pm in Gold Dome.  Since it's the holiday season, we're doing a canned food drive for the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana. Bring 3 canned goods and get FREE admission into the game.  I hope to see you at the game supporting your Centenary Ladies and the Food Bank.

We'll be off for Christmas break after our game against MSU.  My blog will pick back up in two weeks when we return from break.

Happy Holidays and I hope you enjoy the quote.
