Preview: Ladies Hoops Wrap up 2011 at Lamar

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary women's basketball team will wrap up the 2011 year when it travels to Southland Conference foe, Lamar, on Friday in a 7 pm tip-off in Beaumont, Texas.

The Ladies enter the final game of the year and will play their final non-conference contest with a 3-7 overall record.

LAST TIME OUT
The Centenary women's basketball team wasn't able to answer back to the strong offensive performance by defending Southland Conference champion, McNeese State as it fell 89-32 on Dec. 19 in non-conference action inside the Gold Dome.

A LOOK AT STATS
Senior Megan Daniel paces Centenary with a team-best 14.9 ppg and leads the team with 38.2 minutes per game. Junior Jalena Sanders is second-best in scoring with 13.2 ppg and first in rebounding with 6.8 boards a game. Junior Vashni Sharp-Moore follows in scoring with 12.6 ppg, is second-best in rebounding at 6.5 rpg and first in steals with 19 and leads the conference in assists with 63.

A LOOK AT LAMAR
Lamar is 6-6 on the year and is coming off a 73-40 win over Houston Baptist last week. Leading the Cardinals in scoring and rebounding is Kalis Loyd with 15.1 ppg and 6.2 rpg. Monique Whittaker follows in scoring with 10.1 ppg.

CENTENARY vs LAMAR HISTORY
Centenary and Lamar will meet for the fifth time in history on Friday. The Cardinals currently own the all-time record at 3-1 over the Ladies. The last time the two teams met was back in 2006 when Centenary earned an 80-68 win over Lamar.
