Ladies Basketball Visits Magnolia Manor

SHREVEPORT-A balance between playing basketball and volunteering in the community makes an athlete a student-athlete and the Centenary women's basketball team is no question an ideal representation of that after the Ladies visited and played bingo with the residents at the Magnolia Manor on Friday afternoon.

This was the Ladies' second year in a row to visit the residents of Magnolia Manor during "activity time."

"We really have a great time playing bingo with everyone at Magnolia Manor," said head coach Kristen Davis. "Everyone is so nice and welcoming and of course competitive. This year, Megan and Jalena were the big winners from the team in bingo."

Centenary student-athletes continue to represent the College, while supporting the community and this is the second time these Ladies have reached out to their local community this season after they visited and assisted with the First Baptist Church Fall Carnival back in October.

"Being a part of college athletics, we enjoy and are always excited and thrilled to volunteer in the community in which supports us on the court and in the classroom," said Davis.

Centenary will return to action on Thursday, Jan. 12 when it hosts Mississippi College in the Gold Dome at 5:30 pm.
