Preview: Ladies Continue Home Slate this Week

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary women's basketball team continues its home stand with two games this week, beginning with Mississippi College on Thursday at 5:30 pm, followed by Louisiana College on Saturday at 1 pm in the Gold Dome.

The Ladies are currently 4-9 on the year.

LAST TIME OUT
Freshman Dio Warr notched her first career double-double and junior Vashni Sharp-Moore led the Ladies in scoring with 16 points, but it wasn't quite enough as the Centenary women's basketball team dropped a hard-fought game to Howard Payne, 66-55, on Saturday afternoon in the Gold Dome. Warr recorded 13 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to pace the Ladies, surpassing her previous high in rebounds by three which was seven against Schreiner. Sharp-Moore led the team in scoring with 16 points, followed by senior Megan Daniel with 10 points.

A LOOK AT OVERALL STATS
Senior Megan Daniel paces the Ladies' scoring attack with 14.5 ppg and averages 37.6 minutes per game. Junior Vashni Sharp-Moore follows with 12.2 ppg and leads the team with 77 assists, while classmate Jalena Sanders adds 12.0 ppg and paces the squad with 7.1 rebounds per game. Centenary is averaging 63.7 ppg, while allowing its opponents 76.5 ppg.

A LOOK AT MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE
Mississippi College enters Thursday's contest with an even 6-6 record and are coming off a 45-59 loss to Hardin-Simmons on Saturday. The Choctaws are led in scoring by Caitlin Brown's 8.9 ppg. Ebony Williams and Kristin Newsome each leads the team with 4.8 rebounds per game.

HISTORY
Centenary and Mississippi College will meet for the first time in the Ladies' history.

A LOOK AT LOUISIANA COLLEGE
Louisiana College will meet ETBU on Thursday prior to coming to Shreveport on Saturday and are 10-2 on the season. The Lady Cats are coming off an 81-72 win over McMurry last weekend and are riding a two-game win streak after dropping their only conference game to Concordia on Dec. 19. LC is led by Roslyn Wilmer's 14.9 ppg, while Danisha Allison paces the team with 6.5 rpg.

HISTORY
Centenary and Louisiana College will meet for the 10th time in history. The Ladies have won the last three meetings between the two teams, as the last win came in Nov. 2008 in a 75-69 win in overtime.
