Hello all. I hope you've had a great week. We played two games since I've last updated you. It was another up and down week for us, but I feel we improved on our defensive rotations and playing a complete game.

Thursday we traveled to LeTourneau University for a 5:30 pm tip off. We started off the game incredible slow both on the offensive and defensive end. We were in a reaction mode instead of creating and making things happen. The second half would be much like the first half. We finally started to play our game with about a minute left to go in the game. At the end of regulation, the scored was tied and we were headed to overtime. We played better in overtime, but I felt that LeTourneau simply wanted the win more than we did and in the end LeTourneau picked up the win. LeTourneau is a great basketball team and I would be okay with a loss if we would've actually played 100%. LeTourneau took advantage of our turnovers and lack of energy.

Friday, we came into practice and starting preparing for UT-Tyler. We started off practice with some drills that I knew would be tiring and that the team wouldn't enjoy very much. One of the drills is called "Storm" drill. It's a full court timed drilled where everything you do or don't do counts. I told the players that I couldn't understand why they were so tired since they only played 6 minutes of a basketball game the night before. After that we did a ton of free throws and shooting drills. We ended the practice on a good note and we all felt good about our game on Saturday.

Saturday we faced off against UT-Tyler for a 1:00 pm tip off. This was our most complete game all year. We played some of the best defense I've seen us play all year. We were getting tips on balls and going hard after loose balls. We had multiple players in double-digit scoring again too. We even won the rebounding war by one. I was extremely proud of the team and I'm looking forward to our games this week against UT-Dallas on Thursday and Ozarks on Saturday.

Thanks so much for checking in every week on how your Centenary Women's basketball team is doing. Hope you enjoy the quote.
