Preview: Ladies Return Home for Two

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary women's basketball team returns to the Gold Dome this week when it hosts UT-Dallas on Thursday at 5:30 pm and Ozarks (AR) on Saturday at 1 pm.

The Ladies (6-12) are looking to build on their last win, which fell on the road at UT-Tyler.

Four starters reached double-figures as the Centenary women's basketball team cruised to a convincing 77-62 win over UT-Tyler on Saturday afternoon on the road. Centenary was led in scoring by junior Jalena Sanders with 20 points on a 9-of-15 effort from the floor. Following Sanders was junior Vashni Sharp-Moore with 18 on 7-of-10, while senior Megan Daniel and junior Kelly Johnstone combined for six of the Ladies' eight treys for 14 points each. Also knocking down some key shots was freshman Derrany Thomas with nine points off the bench.

Senior Megan Daniel paces the offensive with 15.0 ppg and has knocked down a team-best 76 percent from the free throw line, while playing 37.4 minutes per game. Junior Jalena Sanders follows in scoring with 13.7 ppg and pulls down a team-high 7.3 rebounds per game. Junior Vashni Sharp-Moore adds 12.3 ppg to the mix and leads the team with 108 assists.

As a team, Centenary is averaging 66.4 ppg, while its opponents are scoring 76.6 ppg.

UT-Dallas enters Thursday's contest with a 15-3 overall record and are looking to snap a two-game skid as it fell 54-64 at Louisiana College on Saturday. The Comets are led by Lyndsey Smith's 16.1 ppg, while Kaitlyn Korioth and Ashley George 11.6 and 11.1 ppg. George leads in rebounding with 7.2 a game.

Centenary and UT-Dallas will meet for the second time in history as the Comets earned a 73-59 win over the Ladies back in November of this season.

Ozarks will meet ETBU on Thursday prior to playing Centenary on Saturday. The Eagles are 8-9 overall and fell 50-59 at Mississippi College last Saturday. Sabrina Goddard leads the offense with 17.4 ppg, followed by April Young's 13.6 ppg. Goddard also paces the team in rebounding with 6.8 per game.

Centenary and Ozarks will meet for the first time in history on Saturday. The two teams will play each other back-to-back this season.
