Ladies Fight Hard During Tough Road Loss to the Eagles

CLARKSVILLE, AR – The Centenary Ladies fell short in an exciting road game against the University of the Ozarks in a 66 – 79 loss Saturday afternoon.

Despite having five players in double-digit scoring the Ladies were unable to stop the Eagles.  Rebounding would yet again be a problem for the Ladies as they were out rebounded 58 to 46 and allowed the Eagles to grab 25 offensive boards.

Freshman Dio Warr earned another double-double adding 12 points and grabbing 10 rebounds for the Ladies.  Also adding to the scoring was senior Megan Daniel adding 10, junior Kelly Johnstone adding 10, and junior Jalena Sanders adding 13 from the paint. 

For the Eagles, senior Sabrina Goddard led the way with 18 points and 14 rebounds.

The Ladies shot 36.5% (23 – 63) for the game and were 32.1% (9 – 28) from beyond the arc.

Up next the Ladies will return home for a Thursday match-up against LeTourneau University. Tip off is scheduled for 5:30 pm in the Gold Dome.  Thursday’s game has been designated the WBCA Pink Zone game.  Fans are encouraged to wear pink to support breast cancer research.
