The Ladies and Gents swim teams broke into the top 20 in the Collegeswimming.com rankings this week after a pair of impressive wins over Delta State University last Saturday.

The Avidasports Performance Rankings are based on the competitions each team swam the previous week.  Points are configured by comparing times from these meets against the fastest times in the country.

The Ladies garnered a total of 74.1 points, which was good enough for twentieth out of all Division III teams in the nation.  This is the first time in the history of the program that the Ladies have made the top 20.  Leading the rankings was Emory University with a total of 38.8 points.

The Gents also sit at their highest spot in the rankings this season:fifth place with 63.3 points.  This is a big improvement from last week’s twentieth place.  Topping the Men’s rankings was Emory University with 47.9 points.

“Both the men and women swam very well this past weekend, and it’s nice to see that success recognized through these rankings,” said head coach Butch Jordan.  “This is a huge confidence booster as we gear up for our conference meet, and the excitement couldn’t be higher.”

The Ladies and Gents will travel to Cleveland Mississippi in two weeks to compete in the NSISC Championship Meet.
