Saturday, February 11th: Senior Day
Friday, February 10, 2012

SHREVEPORT - Saturday, February 11th the Ladies and Gents will host a double-head against the UT-Tyler Patriots.  Tip off for the women’s game is scheduled for 1 pm and the men’s game will follow after with a 3 pm start time.  Immediately following the women’s game, the Centenary teams will honor their three seniors: Megan Daniel, Maxx Nakwaasah, and Matt Nichenko.

#32 Megan Daniel (5’8 Guard) Houston, TX (Cy-Fair High School)

Coach Davis on Megan… “Megan has stayed loyal to Centenary and her teammates throughout all of the transition that has taken place over her time here.   Megan has grown so much as person and as a basketball player in her four years.  She came here as a great shooter, and over the past four years has developed into a complete basketball player. Her determination and leadership have been big keys to our team success this season.”

#44 Maxx Nakwaasah (6’3 Forward) Dallas, TX (Berkner High School)

Coach Walsh on Maxx… “I know that the last four years have been filled with continuous transition for Maxx, but he will have left his mark on our program with his blue collar work ethic and toughness.  He has persevered through everything that was thrown his way and is capping off a blue collar career with a legendary senior season.”

  • Recently joined the 1,000 career point club
  • Has exceeded 500 career rebounds
  • Broke the Gold Dome scoring record by knocking down 51 points against ETBU

#24 Matt Nichenko (6’6 Forward) Bossier City, LA (Airline High School)

Coach Walsh on Matt… “Matt came to us as a transfer wanting to play some basketball back home with not much expectation of playing time early on.  Over the last three years he has developed into a contributing senior captain and starter with his hard work and intelligence.  Matt goes to great effort to build our chemistry and that will be sorely missed upon his graduation.”

Saturday’s game will be the Ladies and Gents last home game of the season.  They will complete their season with games on the road against Mississippi College and ending at Louisiana College.
