Choctaws Defeat Ladies 101-67

Clinton, MS - The Ladies had trouble getting anything going as they lost 101 – 67 at Mississippi College on Thursday night.

The Choctaws opened the game on a 10 – 0 run against the Ladies.  Their run finally came to and end when senior Megan Daniel knocked down a much needed three point shot (10 – 3).

The Ladies continued to struggle defensively allowing the Choctaws to have 34 points in the paint in the first half alone.  Fast break points were also a key for the Choctaws as they had 10 fast break points at the half.

The second half would prove to be much like the first for the Ladies.  Centenary had a tough shooting night knocking down only 27.3% from the field (21 – 77).   The Ladies were able to shoot well from the free throw line shooting an impressive 87% (20 – 23) from the stripe.

The Ladies had three players in double-digit scoring: junior Jalena Sanders with 17, freshman Ronny Kendrick with 11, and freshman Derrany Thomas also added 11. 

Mississippi College out rebounded the Ladies 52 – 41 and shot an impressive 54.2% (39 – 72) for the game.

Up next, the Ladies will complete their season at Louisiana College Saturday, February 18 for a 1 pm tip off.
