Richardson, TX-The Centenary softball team opened up the 2012 season dropping a doubleheader to American Southwestern Conference foe, University of Texas-Dallas.  Centenary dropped the first game 9-1 in six innings and the second game 6-2.

The Ladies (0-2) picked up just three hits in the opener, coming of the bats of Seniors Reggie Salvatore (1x2), Leah Dark (1x1), and Kalyn Harris (1x2).

Sophomore starter, Lynsi Unruh (5.2,11,9,9,1,3), held the Comet bats in check through the first four innings.  However, the home team would find its offense in the final two innings scoring eight runs to end the game.  The Comets registered eleven total hits on the day.

Game two saw the Ladies’ bats come alive knocking eight hits; however, they could not push enough runs across the plate, eventually falling 6-2.  Junior Jessica McDonald (2x3) and Sophomore Nicole Warren (2x4) led the Ladies with two hits apiece.  Junior Lindsey Sconce (4.0, 4,5,4,2,0) got the start for the Ladies with Freshman Sierra Bailey (2.0,3,1,0,0,2) relieving her.
