FARMERS BRANCH, TEXAS – Looking for its first win of the season, Centenary College takes the softball diamond after a two-week hiatus at the American Southwest Conference First Pitch Tournament this weekend against Howard Payne, Shreiner and Mary Hardin-Baylor.

The Ladies (0-2, 0-2 in the ASC) are slated to battle Howard Payne (2-1) at 12:30 p.m. March 2, followed by a 5:30 evening contest against Schreiner (2-4). Centenary follows with another 12:30 afternoon contest March 3 against Mary Hardin-Baylor (3-4) with another night game to be determined.

Senior first baseman Kalyn Harris topped the team’s batting in the season-opening series at UT-Dallas, going 2-for-4 with three walks and a .714 on-base percentage. Senior Reggie Salvatore and junior Jessica McDonald gathered two hits apiece in five at-bats. Salvatore drove in two of three runs in the two losses.

Lindsey Sconce and Lynsi Unruh picked up the two losses in the circle. Sconce is allowing a team-low .267 opposing batting average and scattered just four hits in four innings.

The Ladies wrap up their eight-game road trip with a March 6 matchup at conference foe East Texas Baptist at 5 p.m. before making their home debut March 8 against Millsaps at the Centenary Softball Complex, also at 5 p.m.
