Ladies notch top four spots to win tournament

DATAW ISLAND, S.C. – Justine Kemp’s 173 finished one stroke ahead of teammates Rachel Grinnell and Sarah Bradshaw as Centenary grabbed the top four individual spots and the Ladies ran away from the field, winning by more than 100 strokes at the TaylorMade Adidas Intercollegiate Tuesday afternoon.

Kemp fired an opening-round 89, knocking off five strokes with an 84 to close the tournament. Grinnell opened strong with an 85, finishing with an 89 for a 174 for the tournament. Bradshaw’s first-round 90 preceded her better effort, 84, in the closing round to tie Grinnell for second place overall.

Kyndal Rose finished in fourth, just seven strokes behind Kemp, with a 92-88-180 while Kylee Goldthorn’s 205 was good enough for 13th overall.

Host Ohio Wesleyan (805) finished 104 shots off Centenary’s 701 while Savannah State (812) grabbed third. The College of Wooster (826) and Nazareth College (832) rounded out the five-team field.

The Ladies take two weeks off before hosting its only event, the Hal Sutton Intercollegiate at GC at Stonebridge in Bossier City March 26-27. Centenary finishes the season at the LeTourneau Invitational April 2-3 in Longview.
