ALEXANDRIA, La. – Centenary’s Cadie Hancock smacked a two-run double in the opening frame against LSU-Alexandria, but LSU-A used eight runs in the last two innings to break open a tie game, handing the Ladies their 11th consecutive loss Wednesday afternoon, 10-2.

The Ladies (0-11) host a doubleheader against Millsaps Thursday at 2 p.m., a set that has been rescheduled multiple times due to weather.

Hancock’s double jolted the Ladies to a 2-0 lead, the first of her two hits in her 2-for-3 effort, but LSU-A scored one in each of the first and third innings while Cortney Kennedy kept the Ladies bats at bay for the rest of the contest.

Kennedy tossed a complete game in the six-inning, run-ruled contest, surrendering two runs on four hits. Lynsi Unruh (0-5) earned the loss for Centenary after tossing five innings. She gave up five runs, but only one was earned due to four Centenary fielding errors. Sierra Bailey tossed the final 2/3 innings and gave up five runs on six hits.

Hancock’s two hits accounted for half of the Ladies offense as Leah Dark and Kalyn Harris added a hit apiece.

Including Thursday’s doubleheader, the Ladies play the 18 of their next 22 games at the Centenary Softball Complex.
