Gents wrap up season at LeTourneau

LONGVIEW, Texas – Jamie Gibson paved the way for Centenary at the LeTourneau Classic Monday and Tuesday, but the Gents wrapped up the spring season finishing ninth in the 10-team field at the LeTourneau Invitational.

Gibson finished in a tie for seventh with his two-round 146 (74-72), six over par. Zander Winston was just two strokes back after a first-round 71, firing a 77 in the second round. He finished the tournament in a tie for 10th.

Also scoring for the Gents was Matt Delaney, finishing tied for 40th with a combined 160 (79-81). John Sidery shot 86-84 in 55th place, followed directly behind by teammate Arni Sigurdson (89-83) in a tie for 56th.

The Gents combined for a two-round 623 (310-313), well behind UT-Tyler’s winning 574. The Patriots edged Louisiana College (586) by 12 strokes. Individually, UT-Tyler’s Matt Stephens won his second straight tournament at -3 (68-69), just ahead of LC’s Caleb Stark, who finished the tournament at -2 (70-68).
