Ladies post top-five finish at LeTourneau

LONGVIEW, Texas - Rachel Grinnell and the Centenary women’s golf team wrapped up the spring season with a fifth-place finish at the nine-team LeTourneau Spring Classic Tuesday afternoon.

Grinnell improved on her first-round 83 with an 82 Tuesday, two shots ahead of teammates Justine Kemp and Sarah Bradshaw, each firing 85-82. Grinnell finished in 18th place while Kemp and Bradshaw tied for 19th.

Kyndal Rose grabbed 27th with her consistent play, shooting a first-round 86 and second-round 87. Kylee Goldthorn (87-91) closed the Ladies scoring with a two-round 178.

Texarkana College (624) won the tournament, five strokes ahead of UT-Tyler’s 629 mark. Tyler Junior College (637), Schreiner (649) and Centenary rounded out the top five.

Individually, Tyler Junior College’s Maraea Durie (75-74) won by three strokes over Olivia Ferrer (75-77) of Texarkana, which posted five top-14 finishes.
