SHREVEPORT – Visiting UT-Tyler simply outmatched Centenary Saturday afternoon as both tennis teams took 9-0 victories away from the Centenary Tennis Complex, snapping the Ladies five-match American Southwest Conference win streak

The Ladies drop to 6-4 and 5-1 in league play while the Gents dip to 5-4 and 4-2, losing their second straight after dropping a 9-0 decision to Louisiana-Lafayette. UT-Tyler’s women improve to 14-4 while the men jump to 13-5.

Centenary returns to action next Saturday, April 21, to host UT-Dallas to finish the season.

Michael Reeks and Garrett Whipple each used first-set wins to go up 1-0, but each dropped the next two sets. The Patriots used three straight-set wins to finish singles play.

The Ladies fell in straight sets in all six singles matches. The closest the Ladies came in doubles play was an 8-2 loss by top-seeded Isadora Bickham and Lauren Beurlot.
