Ladies wrap up home slate Tuesday against LSU-A

SHREVEPORT – Centenary is hitting its stride as the season comes to an end after taking three of four against the University of the Ozarks last weekend and will host a doubleheader against LSU-Alexandria Tuesday evening starting at 5 p.m. to wrap up its 15-game home stand.

The Ladies (4-27) break from American Southwest Conference play to host the Generals, who took a 10-2, six-inning decision over Centenary March 14 in Alexandria.

During the four-game stretch against the Ozarks, Jessica McDonald posted a .600 mark at the plate (6-for-10) with one RBI. Three other Ladies posted averages of at least .400 as Nicole Warren belted a team-best seven base knocks in 16 at-bats (.438).

Keya Brandon totaled six bases in the stretch, posting a .429 average with six base hits in 14 at-bats while scoring three runs. Lauren Swift hit .400 with two RBIs, playing in three of the four contests. Kalyn Harris tallied three hits, but two were home runs, including a grand slam, driving in a team-best nine RBIs to up her total to 17 while Cadie Hancock and Brandon are tied for second with eight apiece.

Lynsi Unruh picked up three wins and a loss during the weekend, scattering 26 hits in 23 1/3 innings. She posted a 3.86 earned run average after giving up 10 earned runs.

After Tuesday’s doubleheader, Centenary finishes the season with a six-game road trip starting Thursday at Millsaps for a doubleheader at 2 p.m. The Ladies will go to Mississippi College for two doubleheaders starting Friday at 5 p.m. and Saturday at noon.
