Gents dominate LC to close season

PINEVILLE, La. – Centenary finished the season in style, sending off its three seniors in style with a 9-0 American Southwest Conference tennis win at Louisiana College.

The Gents finish the year 6-4 and 4-2 in conference play. LC drops to 2-10 with the shutout loss. Evan Magill, John Reeks and John Callen wrapped up their careers in Gents uniforms.

Sam Grace and Magill improved to 4-3 in ASC play as a doubles tandem with an 8-2 win while Garrett Whipple and Michael Reeks jumped to 7-3 with an 8-0 triumph. John Reeks and Alex Savoie even their record at 2-2 after a 8-4 win to close doubles play.

Top-seeded Grace and No. 3 seed Magill used straight-set 6-0, 6-0 wins to highlight the Gents singles play while John Reeks and Whipple flew by their opponents 6-1, 6-1. Michael Reeks, the No. 4 seed, didn’t struggle in his match, using straight-set 6-1, 6-0 wins to finish the year at 5-5.

Michael Reeks and Garrett Whipple boasted team-best 7-3 marks in singles play while Magill was right behind with a 6-4 mark.
