Ladies fall to Austin College in SCAC Tournament opener

GEORGETOWN, Texas – Centenary mustered just four shots Friday  night against Austin College as the Lady Roos beat the Ladies 2-0 in the opening round of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women’s soccer tournament.

The Ladies end the season at 5-10-1 while Austin College improves to 7-11-2 and will play No. 1 Trinity Saturday night at 5 p.m.

Austin College downed Centenary for the third time in as many tries thanks to goals just 30 seconds apart by Tyler Marquez and Syndey Redding, both assisted by Ariel Marder. Marquez scored just 5:42 into the match, followed by Redding’s goal at the 6:14 mark.

Traci Lee led Centenary’s offense with two shots. The Ladies had two on goal and were outshot 20-4 overall.

Brittaney Dunn gathered four saves before being replaced by Lauren Cullen, who grabbed two saves in the final 12:53. Austin College's Franchesca Loyoza pitched a two-save shutout.
