Ladies unable to keep up with ULL

LAFAYETTE, La. – Dionecia Warr dropped in a team-high 13 points Saturday afternoon for Centenary, but Louisiana-Lafayette posted seven players in double figures and ran away with the women’s exhibition match, 108-38.

The Ladies tip off the regular season Nov. 15 at Lamar at 7 p.m. Warr led the Ladies with 13 points, going 5-for-22 from the field. Brianna Edwards joined Warr in double figures with 11 and was a rebound shy of a double-double with nine.

Brandi Schambough led all scorers with 22 in 18 minutes, knocking down seven of her 12 shot attempts. The Rajin’ Cajuns went 42-for-88 from the field while the Ladies offense struggled, hitting just 28.3% (15-53).

ULL took the lead early and never looked back, leading to a 57-21 halftime lead before outscoring Centenary 51-17 in the second half.
