Wilcox, Ladies to battle UNO in season finale
Wednesday, November 7, 2012

NEW ORLEANS – Centenary wraps up its volleyball season Thursday night at the University of the New Orleans at 6 p.m.

The Ladies are 2-31 entering the match, coming off two consecutive losses at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament last weekend to Southwestern and the University of Dallas. Both losses were 3-0 sweeps. UNO comes into the match at 7-14 overall, riding a three-match losing skid. The Privateers host in-state rival Louisiana-Lafayette tonight at 7 p.m.

Centenary senior libero Jesi Wilcox will play her final match in a Centenary uniform as she continues the chase for second place all-time on the Ladies single-season digs list, although she may have to settle for third. She’s grabbed 480 digs so far, averaging 4.86 digs per set. She needs 67 digs to own sole possession of second. The Centenary record for most digs in a single match is 37.

The last time the two squads met, Centenary grabbed a 3-1 win in the Gold Dome Sept. 17 of last year.
