SHREVEPORT, La – The Centenary women’s basketball team was unable to get much going Friday night, falling to the #17 ranked Lady Pilots (8-1) 86-54. Three players reached double figures for the Ladies, but LSUS shot 42.7 percent from the field and had five players in double figures for them.

Centenary (1-7) began the game with a 2-0 lead on a jumper by Dionecia Warr, but the Lady Pilots answered back quickly with a three pointer by Christy Willis. A three pointer by Vashni Sharp-Moore tied the game at 7-7 before LSUS got momentum. A 13-0 run put LSUS up by double figures before Emmeline Richard’s free throw with 11:41 remaining ended it. Unfortunately the Lady Pilots would keep the pressure up and shot 51 percent in the first half to build a large lead 52-23 at half-time.

Sharp-Moore led all players in scoring with 18 points while continuing to lead the team in points per game on the season. Warr followed with 13 points and Richard had her second consecutive game reaching double figures with 10 points. Briana Edwards had a team high 8 rebounds while Kayla Ruth added 7 and Warr pulled down 6.

Jenna Diakos notched the only double-double leading the Lady Pilots with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Brittany Maddox was right behind with 15 points, while Sharde Henry, Christy Willis, and Katie McCoy had 12, 11, and 10 points respectively.
