SHREVEPORT, La – The Centenary women’s basketball team dropped an 86-83 decision to Dallas on Saturday evening at the Gold Dome. The Ladies fall to 4-14 overall and 3-6 in SCAC action.

The Hilltoppers erased a 31-point deficit to claim their seventh win of the season.

Brooke Hagemann scored a team-best 30 points for UD (7-9, 2-6 SCAC) with 21 coming in the second half. Kylie Yoshimura added 19 points with Christy Allen supplying 12 points.

Caitlyn Gentry posted a career-high 17 points. The Hornbeck, La., native surpassed her previous career-high of 12 points in the first half with 14 points. The previous high also came against Dallas on Dec. 15.

Vashni Sharp-Moore paced the Ladies with 20 points – marking the 13th time in career with 20-plus points. Rebecca Thompson and Dionecia Warr each tallied 13 points in the setback. Brianna Edwards logged a team-best 12 rebounds.

The Ladies amassed a season-high 52 points in the opening stanza taking a 23-point lead in at the break. The first half total stands as the most by the Ladies since 2011.

UD opened the second half outscoring the Maroon and White 43-12 in the first 10 minutes of the second stanza to cut the lead down to under double-digits. The Blue and White kept the pressure up grabbing its first lead since the 17-minute mark of the first half on a layup by Chelsea Seifert with 6:54 remaining in the contest.

The Hilltoppers reached their largest lead of the game, six points, with 5:43 on the clock before hanging on for the three-point victory.

Centenary returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 26 as the Ladies open a five-game, road wing at Austin College. Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m.
