SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary men’s basketball coaches will participate in the Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers Weekend at Austin College on Saturday, Jan. 26.

“My dad had cancer,” Gents head coach Adam Walsh said. “This is a way for us and others to show support and help raise money to find a cure for cancer. We are happy to help in this effort to find a cure.”

NABC coaches across America will be wearing sneakers this year to show his support for Coaches vs. Cancer – a joint effort of the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches that empowers basketball coaches to help make a difference in the fight against cancer.

During Suits and Sneakers weekend, the goal is to enhance fans' engagement and enjoyment of the game while supporting the fight against cancer. Through the years, coaches and sports information directors across America have been so generous in support of the Suits and Sneakers weekend.

One way for fans to help in the fight is to text “COACH” to 20222 and make a donation of $5. Every text from January 21 through April 9 will be entered for a chance to win exclusive basketball experiences like watching top teams courtside at the 2013 Coaches vs. Cancer Classic or autographed gear.
