Gym talk with Tawnee
Monday, February 4, 2013

Hello Centenary Gymnastic fans! My name is Tawnee Hadd, I am a junior on the Centenary gymnastics team.  I’m so excited that I get to tell you all about the great things that have happened over this past week! The beginning of the week we were all ready to make the improvements that needed to happen for our team score to improve. We hit it really hard in practice; working on our cardio, the little details and big college finishes. We only had three practices before we had to leave for another meet, but we really took advantage of the little time we had and made some big improvements.

After hard practices and school work it was finally travel day! We were all so excited! We headed towards Missouri! We made a little stop at Robyn’s House for lunch in Arkansas! It was nice to get out and stretch our legs while enjoying a delicious lunch! We made it to Missouri and before we knew it, it was time for lights out! We woke up the next day really ready to kick some butt and have some fun! It was MEET DAY!! We ate breakfast together then headed to the arena to do some mental choreography. Then we headed back to the hotel to eat lunch. While we were waiting for our lunch to be delivered, thanks to Lissa’s mom, we played some games!! It was so much fun; we had Angry Birds, Jenga, and even Twister! After lunch it was time to get ready for the meet!!

We started on bars, then went to vault, floor, and lastly beam! Our warm-up was great!! We were feeling and looking great! Competition was finally here! Bars was great! We had one of the best team bar scores! Next was vault! We had some high and powerful vaults!! After the first two rotations we were looking fabulous! We got to floor ready to have some fun and show off our unique floor routines and that’s exactly what we did! Lastly, it was time to be calm and confident on beam! Noel started us off with a great save and sticking her routine! The rest of us followed doing the same! This meet was a great improvement from the last! I am so proud of the whole team. We did a fantastic job! I’m excited to get back in the gym with the team and work hard to make more and more improvements every meet!!!

Lastly I just want to give a shout out to all the parents, family and friends that came to the meet this weekend to support the Centenary Gymnastics Team. It’s a great feeling to have you all there supporting us!!

Until next time!
