SHREVEPORT, La. – Centenary men’s soccer coach David Orr announced that on Wednesday, Feb. 6 Jeremy Klespis completed the necessary paperwork and deposit with intent to attend Centenary College of Louisiana. Klespis joins Centenary from Huntsville High School in Huntsville, Texas.

“Jeremy is an outstanding player and person. When Jeremy told me over the phone of his decision to attend Centenary and join our men's soccer program, I was overjoyed,” said Orr. “Jeremy fills an immediate need in our attacking style of play. Jeremy comes from a good family and his character will enhance our program. I'm very excited Jeremy will become a Centenary Gent.”

Klespis joins Orr’s 2013 squad after a stellar career with the Hornets. This season the HHS senior has tallied eight goals with three assists totaling 19 points. Klespis is averaging .533 goals per game and 1.26 points per contest. He recorded a goal and assist in a 7-1 win on Jan. 19 against Tomball Memorial for a season-high total of three points.

“Coach Orr is an attacking-minded coach,” Klespis told the Huntsville Item on Wednesday. “That’s why he’s going to be my best friend for the next four years. He has said that he doesn’t care if he gets scored on because his team is just going to score more goals than the other team. I really like that.

“For me soccer’s all about having fun and winning. I felt like I’d have more fun and feel more at home at Centenary,” stated Klespis.
