Ladies tabbed fifth in SCAC Preseason Poll

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Approaching its first season in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, the Centenary softball team has been selected fifth in the league, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.

The Ladies garnered seven total points, one point behind Dallas in fourth. The Maroon and White finished the 2012 season with a record of 5-34.

Southwestern was tabbed the preseason favorite to win the 2013 SCAC baseball championship picking up the three remaining first-place nods (23 total points). Trinity (22 points) was selected second with the remaining two first-place votes followed by Austin College (15 points) in third.

Centenary opens the 2013 campaign on Thursday, Feb. 14 at LeTourneau. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 4 p.m.
