Strong performances lead at SCAC Championships

ROCKWALL, Texas – Strong performances lead Centenary swim teams in the second day of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships. The Gents claimed three-event wins en route to 203 points at the close of the day while the Ladies recorded a pair of second place finishes and two third finishes to total 167 points.

The night closed with the men’s 400 medley relay team of Michael Schwandt, Austin Butler, Ross Olivier and Andrew Borel recording the second fastest time in SCAC Championship history with a time of 3:26.06 to claim the crown.

Butler and Olivier each logged individual wins during the night. Butler posted a time of 21.00 in the 50 freestyle with Olivier recording a time of 1:55.49 in the 200 individual medley relay.

Olivier, Butler, Schwandt and Christopher Sullivan logged a second place finish in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:25.06.

Rachel Olson and Hayley Schneider claimed second and third respectively in the women’s 200 individual medley relay. Olson recorded a time of 2:09.71 with Schneider posting a time of 2:09.98.

Olson and Schneider teamed up with Kathlyn Rivers and Laura Huning for a third place finish in the women’s 400 medley relay with a time of 4:00.91. Huning, Olson joineded with Michelle Gaubert and Daniela Ruelas in the 200 free relay to finished second with a time of 1:39.18.

The Gents sit in fourth after the second day with the Ladies in third place.
