Ladies, Gents finish third at SCAC Championships

ROCKWALL, Texas – The Centenary swim teams concluded the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships with a pair of third-place, team finishes. The Ladies totaled 586 points while the Gents finished with 665 points.

Ross Olivier added another even title to the trophy case for the Maroon and White as he claimed the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:49.56. The time bested his teammate Michael Schwandt’s time of 1:53.87 in second place.

Austin Butler claimed third in the 100 freestyle with a time of 46.19 to conclude the men’s finishes.

The Ladies registered a pair of second place finishes and added a third place finish to round out its events at the SCAC Championships.

Rachel Olson turned in a time of 2:09.56 in the 200 fly while the team of Laura Huning, Michelle Gaubert, Hayley Schneider and Kayla Thornhill posted a time of 3:35.02 for the second place finishes for Centenary. Schneider finished third in the 100 freestyle with a time of 52.70.

Trinity took the title on the men’s and women’s side. The Tiger men recorded a score of 1,039.5 with women compiling a score of 1,161.5 Colorado College swept second place on both ends with the men finishing with 810.5 and the women with a score of 859.5.
