Gents fall to Huntingdon

JACKSON, Miss. – The Centenary men’s tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision on Friday, Feb. 22 to Huntingdon College on the campus of Millsaps University. The Gents fell to 2-2 on the season in the setback.

The Hawks swept doubles action and four of the six singles matches en route to the win.

Centenary picked up singles wins from Garrett Whipple and Michael Reeks for their only victories on the court. Whipple claimed the No. 2 singles spot 6-4, 6-3 over Zac Baldwin while Reeks picked up the No. 3 singles slot with a 7-5, 6-0 win.

Anthony McMaster forced his singles opponent Bobby Foroughian to three sets before falling 6-2, 3-6, 10-7.

Centenary returns to action on Thursday, Feb. 28 against the University of the Ozarks at 2 p.m. at the Centenary Tennis Courts.
