SHREVEPORT, La. – A pair of four-run innings and solid pitching led the Centenary baseball team to its eighth win of the season and secured a series sweep of Hendrix College as the Gents claimed a 10-3 victory on Sunday afternoon.

Cole Thompson tossed his first complete game of the season and the second on the weekend. The senior hurler fanned 10 batters and gave up six hits and two walks in the affair. The Plano, Texas, native gave up three hits over the course of the eight innings after HC logged a trio of hits en route to its two runs in the first inning.

The Maroon and White posted 13 hits against five Warrior pitchers in the affair. Matt Creamer led the way at the dish with a 4-for-5 effort. Christian Sebastien and Craig Littleman joined Creamer with multiple hits as the duo each logged a pair of hits in the contest.

Jemari James put the Gents on the board in the second inning with a three-run homerun to right center scoring Clakley and Sebastien who had reached on a walk and single respectively to start the frame. The dinger was the first of the season for the native of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands and gave him 10 RBI on the campaign.

Ben Schweinfurth marked the final run of the inning scoring on a Ryan Gasporra sacrifice fly to right field.

The Black and Orange added a run in the third inning to trim the lead back to within a run.

The two squads exchanged three, straight, scoreless frames until Centenary added a pair of runs in the seventh as Sebastien and Littleman each recorded RBI to push the lead to 6-3.

An inning later the Gents added their second four-run inning as Gasporra and Clakley each drove in a run before Gasporra and Marc Martinez scored to close out run total.

Will Nichol took the loss for the Warriors on the mound with 2.2 innings of work. The HC hurler allowed four runs on three hits with a pair of walks and two strikeouts. Kyle Teachout tossed a team-best three innings with four runs allowed. Cannon Schrank, Mickey Platz and Calnton Wood combined for 2.1 innings of work with six hits and six runs allowed.

Centenary continues its season-long homestand on Saturday, Mar. 2 in a three-game series against Dallas. First pitch of the twinbill on Saturday is scheduled for 1 p.m. with a Sunday finale at 1 p.m.
