Gents, Ladies fall to Ozarks

SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary tennis team dropped contests to the University of the Ozarks on Thursday afternoon. The Ladies fall 5-4 while the Gents were defeated 6-3.

The duo of Katie Cornwell and Katelyn Alexander claimed the top doubles spot with a 9-8 victory over their UO counterparts. Cornwell and Alexander followed win single’s wins along with Madelyn Mull. Cornwell claimed a 6-1, 6-2 win with Alexander winning 6-3, 6-2. Mull picked up a three-set victory 4-6, 6-2, 6-0.

The men’s team of Anthony McMaster and Cameon Bueche claimed the only doubles for the Gents with an 8-5 decision. McMaster also grabbed one of two single’s wins with a three set victory 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 over her Eagle’s counterpart Todd Turner. Michael Reeks claimed the other men’s win in singles play with a 7-6, 6-7, 14-12 victory over Corey Dillard.

Centenary returns to action on Friday, Mar. 1 at the University of Texas at Tyler.
