Ladies, Gents swept by Texas-Tyler

TYLER, Texas – The Centenary tennis teams dropped matches at the University of Texas at Tyler on Friday afternoon as both the Ladies and Gents were swept.

The loss marks the first time the Ladies have been swept since the season opener against Abilene Christian. The sweep of the Gents is the first since Feb. 5 against LeTourneau. The Ladies’ setback drops them to 4-4 on the campaign while the Gents are 2-4 on the season.

Katleyn Alexander posted a three-set loss to her UTT counterpart Janae Warren 6-2, 0-6, 10-3.

The Patriot men, who entered the contest ranked No. 20 in Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Top-30 national rankings, remained unbeaten on the season sweeping nearly each decision while the UTT women improved to 3-2 on the season picking up their third straight sweep on the campaign.

The Ladies return to action on Wednesday, Mar. 6 against LSU-Shreveport before both squads host Schreiner on Monday, Mar. 11 at 2 p.m. The Ladies match against LSUS is scheduled for 2 p.m.
